Mr. Martinez is a director of the Urban Leadership Program and focuses on the development of school leadership: teacher leaders, principals, system leaders, and parent and community leaders working in urban areas.

He was formerly a Senior Program Officer at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation where he managed the $40 million Chicago Education Initiative portfolio that funded research and dissemination, school restructuring, teacher and principal professional development and union reform, and parent and community involvement.
