Application Summary for Elementary Education, B.A.

In order to apply you must submit the following materials to:

If you are already a UIC student, skip to Step 2 - COE Materials. All new students to UIC must submit the following materials to the above address.

1) UIC Undergraduate Application   [online form]   
You may complete the application online, or download and print a paper copy. We recommend that you complete the application online because it will allow for the quickest and most accurate processing of your application. If you are applying as a freshman or sophomore you must apply as an Undeclared Major in the College of Education (enter code 20FP5200NONE.) If you meet the requirements you can apply directly to candidacy status in the Elementary Education program (enter code (20FP0095BA.) Click here to see if you meet the requirements. If you do not meet the requirements, you can still enroll in the College of Education and apply as an Undeclared Major. You can then switch in the next admission review after you become eligible.
2) One (1) set of transcripts from all institutions attended     
Official academic transcripts from your high school if you are applying as a freshman, or transcripts from all institutions attended if you are applying as a transfer student. Transcripts must be sent directly from the institution you attended to the Admissions Office to be considered official.
3) Application Fee     
The nonrefundable application fee for U.S. citizens, permanent residents and other non-citizen applicants is $40. The fee for International applicants is $60.
4) ACT scores     
Freshmen must submit official ACT scores directly to UIC. Transfer applicants do not have to submit ACT scores.
5) Personal Statement     
If you applying as a freshman your application must include a personal statement discussing your commitment to working in the service of urban schools. Transfer applicants see Step 2 - COE Materials for instructions on your personal statement.
