The Department of Special Education (SPED) is a community of scholars, researchers, teachers, and practitioners working to improve the educational and post-secondary opportunities for children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities. UIC is also a forceful advocate for persons with disabilities through service oriented programs and innovative research.
