Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, Assessment (MESA), M.Ed.
degree requirements
A minimum of 32 semester hours of credit are required for the degree of which at least 9 hours must be at the 500 level. Independent Study Courses and any 597 or 598 courses do not count towards the required 9 hours of 500 level coursework for the M.Ed. program.
A. Research Methods Core (12 hours):
- Research Design in Education (EPSY 509 - 4 hours)
- Data and Interpretation in Educational Inquiry (ED 501 - 4 hours)
- Essentials of Quantitative Inquiry in Education (EPSY 503 - 4 hours)
B. Required Course for Students taking the Thesis Option (5 hours minimum):
- Thesis Research (EPSY 598 - 5 to 16 hours)
C. Elective Courses (15 hours minimum):
- The 15 hours minimum requirement is for students in the Thesis Option. For students not doing the Thesis Option, more hours are required. You must take enough courses to total 32 hours.
- The elective courses are taken in consultation with your advisor.
