Purpose

The MESA Lab provides Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment consulting services to College of Education faculty and students enrolled in COE courses at UIC.
Services

Our services for faculty and students include:
- Conducting measurement and statistical analysis for faculty on non-grant funded research
- Conducting power analyses for grant applications
- Reviewing and assisting with the Statistical Methods section of grant applications
- Providing advice on developing surveys, rating scales, and tests
- Assistance with setting up appropriate SPSS files for data entry (given a code book)
- Assistance with interpreting statistical output
- Identifying the appropriate statistical test(s) for a research question
- Assistance with developing research designs
- Entering data
- Conducting measurement and statistical analysis for Masters and Ph.D. student research and theses
- Conducting measurement and statistical analysis for grant funded projects unless funding is provided to the MESA Lab for such activities.

When planning your research, grant, or dissertation, please do not expect immediate turn around as the RAs may not have immediate knowledge of your specific problem and it may need to be researched. This is both a service to the COE faculty and students as well as a learning experience for the MESA Lab RAs.
