Download iCal FileJoin us to learn more about connected learning from Dr. Woodard and Dr. Phillips, who have conducted extensive research on youth "connected learning" (Ito et al., 2013) –– the ways that young people learn as they move across technologies, in and out of school, throughout their lives.
As faculty of the UIC College of Education in the department of Curriculum & Instruction, Dr. Phillips and Dr. Woodard regularly teach courses about integrating connected learning principles into teaching and learning in schools. They recently opened a makerspace in the College, the "Make Good Lab," devoted to people engaging in connected learning. In a discussion moderated by UIC Center for Literacy director Dr. Kira Baker-Doyle, they will share some of what they've learned and will engage the Center for Literacy community in a conversation to consider implications of connected learning research and practice for Center work.
Morning refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP at the link below.
