Amidst the many conversations about defunding the police, two UIC faculty members will discuss what it means for schools:

Nicole Nguyen, PhD is an Associate Professor of Social Foundations of Education in the College of Education and David Stovall, PhD is a Professor of Black Studies and Criminology, Law & Justice in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Together they will walk us through how policing happens in schools and what a police-free school could look like.
