Chicago Public Schools face a $1.1 billion budget deficit as students return to class this month.  Mayor Rahm Emanuel has named a new team to tackle the challenges of providing high quality education in a fiscally austere environment.  Janice Jackson, MEd Leadership and Assessment '03 and EdD Urban Education Leadership '10, new Chief Education Officer for Chicago Public Schools, is one of those new leaders tasked with ensuring students in the district's 518 elementary and middle schools receive adequate resources to pursue their life opportunities.  Watch her discuss the school budget crunch on WTTW's Chicago Tonight:
