About

Tim Lemberger is an award-winning marketing and communications leader with more than two decades of experience shaping brand strategy, storytelling, and organizational growth across education, health care, tourism, and the nonprofit sector. He currently serves as Director of Marketing and Communications at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Education in a joint role with UIC Strategic Marketing and Communications, where he leads content strategy, digital presence, storytelling, and, alumni and advancement communications for one of Chicago’s most community-engaged colleges.

Tim has led communications and marketing initiatives for mission-driven organizations at local, national and international levels. His background includes senior roles at the Golden Apple Foundation, the National Academy Foundation, and Education Through Music—where he strengthened brand visibility, expanded digital storytelling, and helped elevate award‑winning programs dedicated to advancing educational equity.

Before joining UIC, Tim made his mark in higher education as the first Director of Public Relations for the Illinois Institute of Art–Chicago, establishing the institution’s foundational communications strategy. His career also includes significant nonprofit leadership, including directing marketing and communications at Project Sunshine, where he developed national branding, digital engagement, and media partnerships in support of programs serving children and families facing medical challenges.

Known for his strategic vision, creative storytelling, and dedication to elevating impactful work, Tim brings extensive experience in developing and managing strategic plans for organizations ranging from nimble nonprofits to large international networks.

Tim earned his bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Iowa. Outside of work, he’s a proud dog parent to two Old English sheepdogs, Boomer and Barney. He is also a passionate traveler, having visited 35 countries around the world, including Bhutan, Cuba, Burkina Faso, Estonia and Andorra.
