Kar (preferred name) holds a Bachelor's degree in Interpersonal Communications and a Master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. As a first-generation college graduate, Kar began his journey working in higher education, supporting underserved student populations through holistic advising, academic support, and resource navigation. Motivated by his own lived experiences, he set out to become the change he once searched for—offering support, understanding, and guidance to those who need it most. With experience in TRIO programs and a passion for student development, he has committed his career to increasing access, equity, and success for marginalized communities. He has led efforts in creating programs and collaboration opportunities that support the holistic well-being of students, focusing on mental health, identity development, and access to essential resources. Kar is passionate about building intentional systems of support that foster equity and personal growth with students.
