UIC Graduate College Funding Resources
Introduction
Tuition Assistance For Graduate Students
Graduate students can apply for scholarships, grants, and graduate assistantships to cover all or part of tuition.
The most common form of graduate funding is the assistantship. An assistantship provides you with a stipend and, usually, with a tuition and partial fee waiver. UIC offers teaching assistantships (TA), research assistantships (RA), and graduate assistantships (GA).
The UIC Graduate College is a great source of information about funding opportunities for UIC graduate students. Please note that some of these opportunities are only for currently enrolled students, which means that if you have not been accepted to a program yet, you are not eligible to apply.
- Graduate College Tuition and Fee Waivers cover tuition and fees to the UIC Graduate College and are awarded on a limited, semester-by-semester basis.
- University Fellowships are awards aimed at recruiting outstanding students newly admitted to graduate programs at UIC.
- The Graduate Access Fellowship seeks to increase the excellence and diversity of the graduate student body by attracting applicants who have overcome obstacles to achieve academic success.
- The Graduate College’s newsletter lists many financial aid resources.
