Project partners will create a national network of special education leaders. We will connect future university and school leaders to work in partnerships during their Ph.D. and Ed.D. programs with a shared goal of improving outcomes for students with disabilities from historically marginalized groups in high-need urban and rural communities. Scholars will receive full tuition, a $42,000 stipend, research and travel funds, and opportunities to network with a national cohort of scholars.
Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAAN) Fellowship Heading link
The GAAN Fellowship will prepare student to become researchers and expert teacher educators in special education or bilingual education. GAAN Fellows will take coursework on effective university teaching and receive supervised observation of their teaching performance from seasoned faculty. Fellows will receive full tuition and fees and a stipend of up to $37,000 dependent on their demonstrated level of need.
