Download iCal FileIRRPP’s Leading Race-Conscious School Improvement (LRCSI) Workshop is an intensive three-day workshop on race-conscious school improvement. The workshop, led by UIC EdD faculty and held in conjunction with the Center for Urban Education Leadership, will support education leadership teams interested in learning how to intentionally and systematically center racial justice in their improvement practices.
The goal of the workshop is to develop participants’ capacities to implement race-conscious improvement within their schools with the ultimate aim of increasing educational opportunities for students of color.
Join UIC EdD faculty Lionel Allen Jr., Van Lac, Decoteau Irby, and Jason Salisbury and guest presenters for an intensive 3-day summer workshop on race-conscious school improvement. Bring your leadership team to learn how to systematically center racial justice related to:
- Community and youth engagement
- Culturally relevant instructional improvement
- Organizational learning and improvement
- School culture and climate improvement
Attendees will sharpen their race-conscious school improvement through in-depth work to:
- Understand a race-conscious approach to their school improvement work
- Critique their existing work in this area
- Envision what racially-conscious practice looks like for their school
- Develop a plan to make that racially-conscious vision a reality
