School Improvement Data Day at CPS Bowen

At Bowen High School, under the leadership of Principal Nia Abdullah, EdD Urban Education Leadership student, school improvement is a community-wide process that welcomes the input of families, students and non-profit leaders.  Working with the Center for Urban Education Leadership's Margery Ginsberg, PhD, senior researcher and Jason Swanson, PhD, research specialist, Abdullah and Bowen's instructional leadership team created teams of stakeholders for a Data-in-a-Day workshop, seeking to use the collective voice of all stakeholders to flesh out the school's strengths and areas in need of improvement.  In the fall, new EdD Urban Education Leadership students will participate in a second round of Data-in-a-Day at Bowen to learn from these practices as they begin their principal residencies.  Watch the video:
