Assistive Technology Leaders in Special Education II (ATLiS2) is a special education scholarship program that will prepare currently licensed educators to earn an Illinois learning behavior specialist (LBS1) endorsement and an advanced learning behavior specialist (LBS2) endorsement in assistive technology. ATLiS2 scholars will participate in interdisciplinary coursework and community building activities to establish a community of assistive technology specialists.

ATLiS2 scholarships include costs for tuition and fees. The program will last four semesters across two years with two classes per semester. Scholars must complete a service obligation which requires two years of service for each year of support. For this project, the service obligation is four years and can be completed in a variety of settings and positions.

Eligibility

•  Current teachers with a professional educator’s license (PEL)

•  Interest in learning about special education and assistive technology

•  US Citizen or Permanent US Resident

 

Program Requirements

•  The ATLiS2 project requires 30 credits and will be completed in four semesters starting in the spring semester.

•  12 credits to earn the LBS1 endorsement (4 classes)

•  18 credits to earn the LBS2 in assistive technology (6 classes)

•  Participation in ATLiS2 Annual Meeting

•  Participation in a Community of Practice (post-graduation)
